Child Abuse Mandated Reporter Training

This course has been designed specifically for mandated reporters of child abuse. In this 7.5-hour training you will learn about the definitions and indicators of child abuse and neglect. You will find out how a mandated reporter is different from a discretionary reporter, and what is reasonable suspicion of abuse. Reporting procedures will be discussed, and you will have an opportunity to complete a child abuse reporting form. Preregistration is required by 5pm, Monday, March 15.

Friday, March 19, 2004 - 8:30am-4:30pm
The class costs $20. There will be a $10 fee for cancellation and there is no refund for non-attendance. Check-in is at 8:15am. This course meets the qualifications for 7.5 hours of continuing education credit for MFTs and LCSWs as required by California Board of Behavioral Sciences. You must be present at the entire workshop to receive continuing education credit.

Bob Davis earned his Masters of Science Degree in Counseling Psychology from CSU Fullerton. Bob is currently a Social Worker Supervisor with Humboldt County Health and Human Services Child Welfare Division and has been teaching Mandated Reporting courses since 1989. He has taught a variety of courses to social workers including interviewing children, signs and symptoms of physical abuse, stress management and crisis intervention. He is currently the training coordinator for Child Welfare Services, which includes assessing training needs, developing curriculum and presenting classess for Child Welfare Staff.
